Looking for opinions on Mandrill and Rails app. Having trouble with existing provider.

I’ve been using an email provider for a long time but they’re focus is more on enterprise email and less on an app sending SMTP email and/or transactional email.

I just spent the better part of two days getting them to fix a problem that was blocking my latest app and think it’s time for me to move. Mandrill seems to be a rock solid, complete system.

My app only sends email to opted in users. It sends notifications based on system activity that the users have opted to receive. The email templates are hosted on my system. I need a reliable SMTP server that will insure my domain maintains a solid reputation (assuming my app doesn’t do anything stupid obviously).

Thoughts / opinions?
