Malware detected and my droplet has been disconnected

Posted on October 26, 2020

Hi all,

My droplet has been disconnected because malware was found in one of my website. I am a web designer and I have no idea how to fix this. I have a backup made six days ago , can this be fixed by restoring it? I tried to create the backup in a new droplet but I can’t load to Plesk after the droplet has created. Can anyone help me to solve this without losing the works I did? Is there any software I can install to the droplet to prevent similar problem in the future?

Thank you.

Hi @AMEric,

Restoring the backup most probably will not help at all. Even if at the time the website was not hacked, it will be hacked again the same time it was previously.

What I’ll recommend is to contact a web developer or a security specialist to help you remove the malware and secure the website so that it doesn’t happen again in the future.

Hello there,

I can recommend using software like Linux Malware Detect which is a malware scanner for Linux.

Maldet is really handy malware scanner because it’s a database for malicious files detection is also designed to work in a shared hosting environment and can be easily implemented without the hassle of long and difficult SysAdmin work

Hope that this helps!
