Migrate Wordpress from localhost to virtual host on DigitalOcean

March 2, 2015 4.2k views

Hi there. I have a Wordpress site with a MySQL database on XAMPP on Mac OS X. I need to migrate it to my droplet on DigitalOcean.

I already have a live domain (URL) on my DigitalOcean droplet. So I'll need to set-up a virtual host in Apache to install the WordPress site.

I found various recipes on the internet to do this, but many have different instructions.

So, please point me to step-by-step instructions on how to do this on my DigitalOcean droplet (Ubuntu).

Thanks!

WordPress is the most popular content management system on the web. In this guide, we'll demonstrate how to install and configure it on an Ubuntu 14.04 server.

Thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately, the first link you offered has no text in it.
