Question

Mirror server , or mirror database

Posted August 12, 2013 6.2k views
Hi, I would like to create a mirror server as a backup server, in which anything that happens at the first server, exactly happens on the backup (mirror) server exactly the same and at the same time. So if the first server stopped, the traffic will be automatically transferred to the backup server. Any help is appreciated.

Take a look at this article on setting up MySQL replication: https://www.digitalocean.com/community/articles/how-to-set-up-master-slave-replication-in-mysql
by Etel Sverdlov
MySQL replication is a process that allows you to easily maintain multiple copies of a MySQL data by having them copied automatically from a master to a slave database. This can helpful for many reasons including facilating a backup for the data,a way to analyze it without using the main database, or simply as a means to scale out. This tutorial will cover a very simple example of mysql replication—one master will send information to a single slave.
