how can i save and close the local host file after adding domain and ip address

It depends on the editor you are using to edit the local host file on your ubuntu server.

vi editor :

vi filename

Press Esc to enter Command mode, and then type “:wq” to write and quit the file

nano editor :

nano filename

To exit and save the file, start by pressing Ctrl + X on your keyboard. This will attempt to exit nano, You’ll now be asked if you want to save your changes to the file. You need to respond by entering either “Y” or “N”
