After build some web apps in my droplets, I saw a lot of spam form same user over and over again, but my apps, can’t detect IP’s.
I’m looking for a tool to see and manage the network traffic into my droplet. The best tool I can wish for, is one that include map show where from trying to reach my site.
Is that something that include in my droplet ? or something I can install in my droplet ? (maybe open source solution..)

Hi there @xdavidt,

There are a couple of things that I could suggest:

  • You could manually check your access logs or use this script here to summarize the logs for you and show you the IPs that are generating the most requests.

  • You could sign up for Cloudflare which comes with some defense systems like DDoS protection and a firewall where you could monitor the activity of your website

Hope that this helps!

  • Thank’s for the fast reply Bob,
The script is good, but not sure I can find where the strange traffic came from.
The cloudflare does not provide any monitoring, only provide tools to prevent attacks, and I’m already in.

    • Hi there @xdavidt,

Do you get the spam through a contact form on your website? If so what you could do in order to stop it is to add a captcha on your site so that it would prevent any bots from exploiting the form.

      • I can do all that, but I still get easy when I will see map.
Map cat tell me where in the world trying to reach my site, and if someone is foreign, I will block it :)
