I had set up my server and used it previously as a wordpress blog (Ubuntu WordPress on 16.04 ).

Now that my tasks changed, I have to move the wordpress from root directory to subfolder. Is it possible and if it is, then how?

Great question. So let’s say you have Wordpress running at example.com, and you want to move it to sub.example.com. This should not cause you too much trouble, provided there are no unforeseen variables. In this case, simply create a DNS A record for “sub.example.com” which points to your droplet IP, then follow instructions here to change the Wordpress site URL:
