Question

Multiple IPv6 on a Droplet, one per site?

Dear all,

Is it possible to deploy a Droplet and use the provided additional IPv6 addressess to setup multiple domains, each one with its own IP, on the same Droplet? I tried searching on the community but couldn’t find anything relevant.

My plan would be to deploy a single Droplet, install Webmin/Virtualmin and assign a different IP for every domain from there.

Hello,

Here’s a great article on how to assign additional IPv6 addresses to your droplet:

https://www.digitalocean.com/docs/networking/ipv6/how-to/add-additional/

In your assigned IPv6 range, you have access to 16 addresses.

Hope that this helps!
Bobby

  • Not working for Debian 10. The following works for me on Debian 10

    iface eth0 inet6 static
    hwaddress xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
    address <ipv6-1/64>
    gateway <ipv6-gw>
up ip -6 addr add <ipv6-2>/64 dev $IFACE
down ip -6 addr del <ipv6-2>/64 dev $IFACE
up ip -6 addr add <ipv6-3>/64 dev $IFACE
down ip -6 addr del <ipv6-3>/64 dev $IFACE
up ip -6 addr add <ipv6-4>/64 dev $IFACE
down ip -6 addr del <ipv6-4>/64 dev $IFACE
up ip -6 addr add <ipv6-5>/64 dev $IFACE
down ip -6 addr del <ipv6-5>/64 dev $IFACE
