My Server keeps crashing every time I open a django form

I have followed the tutorial https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-set-up-django-with-postgres-nginx-and-gunicorn-on-ubuntu-18-04 but have included the postGIS extension with one change in that I have created the env in my user (su sammy) account instead of as root, when testing the application it open fine for all static pages but when opening a page with a form on it the server crashes.

How do I find out why the server is crashing or resolve the issue?

Hi @stiofficeteam,

Can you please specify what you mean by your Droplet crashing? Is it any specific service that fails and you need to restart it, is it your Droplet that you need to reboot?

Additionally, if there is a specific service, have you checked the logs of them or not? Most specifically, it would be best to provide the list of services that are crashing in order to provide you with some useful advice in such cases.

  • I have gone through the whole process and added gunicorn and nginx to see if the fault persists (the static site and pages all load without issue) but having recreated the project in a new droplet I still get the same error, when I get to running the local server to confirm everything works and try to open a page that has a form, after 10 seconds, the server crashes and stops without logging anything in the terminal that I can discern as being an error and I have to reboot the server.

If I cd /var/log/ which file should I read to get the output of the crash as there are no log files in /var/log/crashes .. what file should I open if I use sudo apport-unpack?
