Can you share more information (datacenter , the issue datetime) ? As my droplet also encounter network problem on 2018-01-07 21:29 GMT +8.
I have a monitor to checking if the site is working every minute, so the networking problem is about 2018-01-07 21:29 GMT +8.
What I found that is :
I can still using the console (in the droplet page) to control the droplet
the droplet cannot reach the wan (i tried to ping google.com)
the droplet cannot reach the private network (i have another droplet )
How I solve:
I try to reboot the droplet, (not working, still cannot reach the internet.
I try to shutdown the droplet, and click power on, working this time.
My droplet is at SGP1, Ubuntu 16.04.2 x64
I have contacted Digital Ocean’s support, but they just said “We are showing no errors with the hypervisor on our end and have seen no reports of other connectivity issues. ”
