I have a wordpress site running on ubuntu 12, I upgraded to 1G ram, set up a swap file of 512mb and the mysql server still crashes.
Any thoughts?

The first step in figuring out your problem is to look at the log messages. That should give us some indication as to why MySQL is crashing. Could you pastebin the contents of “/var/log/mysql/error.log”
