Question

MySQL failing , not connecting to database and "Connection for controluser as defined in your configuration failed" in phpmyadmin

Posted December 2, 2014 3.9k views

From time to time something goes wrong with MySQL, I get the above error and no databases will connect.

The only way I can fix it is by running

“sudo shutdown -r now”

Has anyone any suggestions for fixing this issue, or getting the cause of it? I found this thread but no luck there…

Im running Ubuntu 14.04

Thank you!

OOM is killing it because you’re out of memory.

  • Thanks, I’ve come to realise this is specific to one website only (a Wordpress one), so I guess its not a server issue I should be looking at in terms of resolving this, but the website itself.
