need some confirmation about droplet and droplet limit

hello all:
I've read some relevant posts in this forum, but still some clarifications about droplet limits are appreciated:

  1. I noticed that i have a droplet limits of 10, my understanding is that I can spin up 10 virtual servers simultaneously at maximum?

  2. Suppose I did as above and have all 10 droplets activated for a month, does it mean I will pay $5 X 10 = $50, assuming all of them have employed the cheapest configuration.

  3. Now supposed I spin up just another droplet called "Test" for experimental purpose, and I use it for 2 hours before destroying it. Does it mean I just need to pay an additional fee of 2 X (hourly rate) ?

Thank you for your kind responses.

You are correct. The monthly rate is really more of a monthly cap. You only pay for what you use. If you spin up a droplet for a few hours, you only pay that hourly rate. So running a $5/month droplet for two hours would only cost you $ 0.02 as we round up to the nearest penny from $ 0.014 That's a big part of the reason why cloud platforms are so great for testing. You can spin things up on demand and not have to pay for excess capacity that is just sitting around.

If you need to increase your droplet limit, just open a support ticket. In order to prevent abuse, we start users off with a small limit initially, but we're happy to increase it if needed.
