New domain name does not point to new droplet

Hello, I’ve created a droplet for a WordPress website, followed the steps in order to finish the WordPress setup and everything worked fine so far. I’ve changed the DNS nameserver settings on the registrar’s website to Digital ocean nameservers, something I’ve always done in the past so that the domain name would point correctly to the droplet IP. However this time round it just doesn’t work, when I visit the DNS does not resolve. If I ping the website I get an unknown host response, and if I ping the droplet IP I get a healthy 200 response.

I don’t know where I’m going wrong here, any help is much appreciated.

Hey there! It looks like your domain registrar has put your domain on hold due to which its not resolving. Registrar:Gandi SAS Registered On:2019-02-06 Expires On:2020-02-06 Updated On:2019-03-04 Status:clientHold clientTransferProhibited Name

This status code tells your domain’s registry to not activate your domain in the DNS and as a consequence, it will not resolve. It is an uncommon status that is usually enacted during legal disputes, non-payment, or when your domain is subject to deletion.
