NextJs App Platform outbound transfer bandwidth when application required images are stored in digital ocean space.

Posted on January 22, 2022

I am using app platform to host my nextjs application. for image hosting, I am using digital ocean spaces droplet.i want to show images hosted in spaces in my nexjs application dynamically. but I wanted to know if I do this way, will my images take the bandwidth of the 100 gb allocated in the professional plan, or it will just take the available 1TB bandwidth that comes with spaces. I would like to store over 10K images in the space. please help me to get an idea about how billing works in this scenario.

Hi there,

According to this documentation here, the answer is yes. Outbound traffic from any Droplet to any Space does currently count against your Droplets’ outbound transfer allowance. We’re working to change this behavior.
