No audio playing on webpage?

So, I tried to deploy a LibGDX game to my web server, and the audio doesn't work. (LibGDX == Java code compiled to JS with GWT and the audio code is from LibGDX, so I have no idea what it's doing but it should work).

I'd ask on the LibGDX forums (in fact I have) but the thing is, if I test my game in a local web server (using "python -m http.server 8000"), the sound works fine. If I take the same files and copy them to my DigitalOcean server, the game runs fine, but none of the sounds play.

Is there some DO/Apache/somethingelse setting I need to change to get audio to work?

  • As far as I am aware there should be nothing server specific for that to function. With that said, I'm not familiar enough with these games to say that with absolute confidence. If you happen to find the answer, do come back and let us know. Maybe that can help someone else later :)
