Seem to be posible:

I currently don't undestand how ASP.NET can work on Linux or if I'm misinterpreting.
If is a reality, this can lead me to jump on ASP.NET and build a website with a server here in DigitalOcean.

I'd love to see a DO tutorial on using .net core with linux.

UPDATE:

DigitalOcean now has a pre-configured .NET Core w/ PowerShell on 16.04 one-click. This is essentially an Ubuntu 16.04 x64 droplet with the dot net core AND powershell pre-installed.

More documentation on .Net Core here and Powershell here.

Read more about using the .NET Core w/ PowerShell on 16.04 in this tutorial: https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-use-the-net-core-with-powershell-one-click-image

Start working with .Net Core and PowerShell on Ubuntu with DigitalOcean's One-click image.

Yes. While we do not currently provide any documentation related to running ASP on a droplet you should not have a problem setting this up. Microsoft provides some documentation on how to get set up here.

I followed the MS documentation but at this step below a large amount of dependencies where not found.
sudo apt-get install libunwind8 gettext libssl-dev libcurl4-openssl-dev zlib1g libicu-dev uuid-dev

Did anyone actually try this? I attempted the setup on ubuntu 14 and 15.
