packet loss on teamsper 3 server

Hi I recently installed a ts3 server on $5 host package . it installed fine and works like a charm until more than 5-6 people join. Then a couple of people are getting packet loss out of upto 20%!.

When we had around 30+ users connected alot of them were getting the same issue.

DIgital ocean claim the ports are all open and I have checked this and it is true. They have also said the bandwidth etc is unrestricted which is also true.

Has anyone else experienced this and did you find a way to resolve it?

thanks in advanced

Same problem here. Been having this issue with my Singapore droplet for months. Packet loss happens way too often in DO. They really have to fix their network.

If you need a long term reliable solution people should consider a light utilization instance on Amazon EC2. We pay $8/month for a rock solid server and the first instance is free.

If you want a great server with perfect bandwidth using either spindle or SSD then try a VPS with Sparknode. Their network is 100% rock solid with amazing service.

DO needs to get their network under control. These kinds of problems will damage their reputation and limit growth later. $5/month is awesome but they should either fix the problem or provide a clear disclaimer that says heavy bandwidth will suffer packet loss. DO has a place in our infrastructure which is low utilization, packet loss tolerant services.

Same problem here. I shouldn’t have to open a support ticket. It is Digital Ocean’s responsibility to understand what is happening on their own network.
