Ping Time to NY2 Server is slow

Hi I am looking to migrate my EU server (rackspace) to NY2 however ping time to the rackspace server in london is 32ms while Digital ocean is 100ms+,

Could you please explain why it it so much slower, and how this can be improved.

If you're looking for lower latency from London, DigitalOcean does have a London datacenter.

If you open a support ticket, our networking team can investigate the issue. It would be helpful if you could provide a traceroute to the droplet.
