Plesk Licence - Provider requesting VPS platform

Posted January 21, 2015 2.6k views

I’m purchasing a Plesk 12 licence, and the provider is requesting the VPS platform the licence will be used on. The options are;

  • Virtuozzo
  • KVM
  • XEN
  • VMWare
  • MicroSoft Hyper-V
  • Parallels Server
  • OpenVZ

Does it matter which I choose?

I already have Plesk 12 installed and running a demo licence from Parallels on my Droplet. They didn’t ask which platform.

It may matter in how they configure things or they may just want the metrics to know what platforms to focus on targeting. DigitalOcean Droplets are KVM virtual machines.
