Preffered Monitoring Tool: Munin Vs Cacti

Posted on May 4, 2015

I’m trying to decide between Munin and Cacti, they look fairly similar in most aspects. Has anyone got any good reasoning to choose one over the other?

It seems, from what I can google, that Cacti is easier to expand with scripts, and has zoomable graphs, which seems good!

If you already have SNMP setup in most of your clients, then maybe cacti is going to be easier to start up with.

If not munin, has its own agent.

But nonetheless, the result is pretty much the same.
