Prices explanation: $5 per space or $5 for spaces?

Posted on November 27, 2018

DigitalOcean isn’t very clear if it will cost me $5 per space (e.g: $5 for a SQL Backup space AND $5 for image hosting space) or if it’s $5 for access to spaces as a product and then I’m charged past the 250GB of storage and 1TB of bandwidth.

Any help clearing this one up please?

Once you start using Spaces, the actual number of Spaces has no effect on billing.

You can have one Space or a thousand Spaces, and as long as:

  1. The total storage across all your Spaces is less than 250GB
  2. The total outbound bandwidth across all your Spaces is less than 1TB

you will only be charged $5

Go ahead and create that Space :)

Silly question, but i’m not sure about this, what happen if i create a space and i delete it after a while (lets say 3-4days after its creation), how i would be charged? i’m charged $5 upfront?

Thanks

@AHA so… I’m still confused, it’s clear that as long as you use 250GB and 1TB in data transfer you’ll be charged $5…so long, so good. Now, what if I need to use 1.25 TB in space, and say the first month only 650 Gb data transfer, but come September and I’ll need 3.5TB and 1.3Tb data transfer… how much would I pay in these scenarios?
