Question

Problem with bad gateway on Ubuntu/Nginx install

Posted September 8, 2014 2.1k views

I have an unmanaged VPS server, I want to track online CPA offers using Prosper202.
I have installed Ubuntu 12.04 with Nginx and Prosper202 using your tutorial . I am seeing “bad gateway” when trying to access from my domain “http://tra**nc.com” and the Nginx welcome page when I enter my server IP.
I have re-installed several times to be sure and I am not seeing errors from tail -f /var/log/nginx/error.log command.
Reading Ubuntu documentation I see there have been problems with php.
Can you advise please.
Thanks

Anything in the php5-fpm log?

Two of the common problems are orphaned fpm processes. They need to be killed before php5-fpm can be properly started.

The permissions on the socket file have become more strict and the /etc/php5/fpm/pool.d/ config files need to be changed.

Think the defualt ubuntu nginx entries need to be.
listen.owner = www-data
listen.group = www-data
