Question

Python web page not updating/changing

I followed the guide here, which worked fine.

/community/tutorials/how-to-serve-flask-applications-with-uswgi-and-nginx-on-ubuntu-18-04

But when I change content within the myproject.py file nothing changes!

eg:

return "<h1 style='color:blue'>Hello There!</h1>"

to

return "<h1 style='color:blue'>Hello World!</h1>"

I am hoping there is some kind of setting that will just use the new pages as I have uploaded them and not cache any code files.

?

The only way I can currently get the content to update (on the end website) is to either:

1: restart Ubuntu via the DO console

>> reboot

2: or to restart uWSGI

>> sudo systemctl restart myproject

Just to add I am currently coding in Pycharm (desktop app) and uploading files via SFTP, but I have also tried nano editing my file, which did not change anything on the end website either.

Hello,

What you need to do is change your uwsgi.ini file and add:

touch-reload = /home/path/to/app.py

Then run touch app.py, this will reload uWSGI without having to restart it manually.
