Question

Question about Spaces and Storage Volumes

Hi!

What I’ve done:

  • Installed a simple out of the box strapi app
  • Created a Space
  • Added a droplet and a storage volume
  • Configured the strapi app to use the digital ocean storage for media files
  • all within the same project

When I upload files in my app, it all seems to be working and they appear in the space file system.

However I’ve never linked the Space to the storage droplet

Question: How do I know if the files are stored in the storage?

Hi there,

A quick clarification question, are you using both Spaces and a Block storage for this setup?

If you are using a Block storage, what you could do is run the df -h command. This will show you where your volume has been mounted on.

Then you can use the ls -lah command to check that directory and verify if the files are in there.

For more information on how to mount a volume to a specific directory, you can follow the steps here:

https://docs.digitalocean.com/products/volumes/how-to/mount/

And if you are using Spaces, you could use the DigitalOcean control panel and check the contents of your Spaces bucket directly through there.

Best,

Bobby
