Recovery of Blog /Droplet - HEELPP !!

September 17, 2014 2.5k views

First of all I’m a n00b to WP and digital ocean / droplets etc - OK
So decided yesterday to try to migrate my blog to a NGINX Droplet (ubuntu). Short story is I buggered it up - am now left with trying to restore a droplet backup / image to my functional blog. Problem site works in a way but can NOT get in to ‘wp-admin’. Have established SSH access and Cyberduck(putty) access etc so can hack - if only I knew where to start - anyone ???

  • Could you expand on what you mean by “can not get in to ‘wp-admin?’” Are you getting a 404 or other error message or is it something else like incorrect password? If you’re rolling back from an attempt to move to Nginx, presumably you’re on Apache? Checking your error logs is usually the best place to begin in any effort to debug something. Run tail -n 25 /var/log/apache2/error.log

If “wp-admin” requires a username and password, read the finishing installation part. I had the same problem.
