Reverse DNS is not a valid Hostname

Posted on November 23, 2018

Hello,

I have been trying to fix issues with Reverse Dns. I’m running VirtualMin on CentOS 7.

I have renamed my droplet to hostname.com (soundstroke.ng) i don’t know what else to do i have followed so many tutorials on this but doesn’t work.

Please what should i do?

This question is a bit confusing.

I’m able to perform a DNS lookup on soundstroke.ng, then a reverse DNS lookup on the resulting IP address and that works.

The hostname of your droplet doesn’t matter all that much; it’s simply the internal name of your droplet and how it will be accessed on the droplet’s internal network…

Which tutorials are you using? What exactly are you trying to do?
