I followed the setup guide for installing the Xfce GUI and tightvnc. I am able to successfully connect to the desktop environment.
I installed Chrome via the terminal and it shows up under Application > Internet. But when I click on it, nothing happens; it never opens.
Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

Maybe you can try running Chrome from terminal to get logs. You should be able to run it using google-chrome-stable. It should show you logs, and there you can see if it misses something.
It could be that you’re missing some dependency, but logs should show that.
