Question

Second static site under subdomain

Hi, I have created an application that has a database, nodeJS service, and a static website.

The application has a subdomain of the form subdomain.project.app, and its API calls are redirected from subdomain.project.app/api to the backend component, and everything works well.

Now, I have to add another application, which is the back office part of the project, and my goal is to place it on a different subdomain in the form of backoffice.project.app.

How can that be done using an application platform?

I was not able to make it work by adding a second subdomain as it was pointing to the same application.

And if I create an entirely different app, how do I set redirects from backoffice.project.app/api to subdomain.project.app/api or straight to the backend correctly?

Hi there,

Indeed, the best way to handle that might be to just create a second App and deploy your static site there so that you would have full control over the domain mapping.

Then regarding the API calls, you can handle this on the client side, where your back office application directly makes requests to subdomain.project.app/api endpoint.

You would only need to setup the CORS on the subdomain.project.app/api app so that it allows the requests from the new backoffice app:

hope that this helps!

Best,

Bobby
