Server Access Denied even after resetting root password

Hi, I had to reset the root password for my server. After getting the email about the new password, I tried to connect to the server using Putty. I know it is supposed to ask you to set a new password after putting in the emailed password but I’m not getting there at all. It just says “Access Denied”.

Under this scenario it is best to open a support ticket. There are a few scenarios that can cause this experience. There is also a recovery environment that we can place Droplets in to allow you to set the root password without the temporary password emails.
