Server caching making development impossible.

Posted on May 24, 2019

I am making changes to my code (html/php) and they are not showing up in the browser wen the page renders. I tried using an incognito window to see if it was caching on my side, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Is apache caching? or something else? how can I clear the cache? Refresh it on demand or disable temporarily while I am making changes?

I have to qualify that statement a bit. The changes are not “all” showing up. at lease not right away. One has yet to show at all.

Yeah, I had the same problem with my CSS changes. The CSS was okay in incognito but the regular window wouldn’t update no matter how many times I hard-refreshed it.

The solution was to clear my browser cache.
