Set up public name servers with multiple ip's

Posted on July 15, 2016

At my previous host my vps server came with 3 ip addresses which easily allowed for me to set up cpanel and host my nameservers and websites on the same server. So for example we would have ns1.namserver.com going to 1 ip, ns2.nameserver.com going to a second ip and a third ip for routing to domain names hosted on the server. How would I achieve a similar set with your services. It appears I can only assign 1 ip per droplet here with Digital Ocean?

It is currently not possible to assign multiple IP addresses to to droplets. You can however use the same IP address and assign it to both of the nameservers.

If you are unable to use the same IP address, you can also look into DigitalOcean Floating IP addresses. You can redirect traffic to the Droplet using Floating IP addresses. https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-create-a-floating-ip-on-digitalocean
