Setting up domain parking service?

I’m trying to set up a domain parking service to point ununsed domains to. I set up a droplet hosting my website at https://parkedforgood.com. Then I followed this tutorial to set up vanity nameservers. I followed the section for creating glue records on my Namecheap account pointing to the DO nameserver IPs. Then I pointed a separate domain that I own, http://coolpatterns.net, to ns1/ns2/ns3.parkedforgood.com. But it is throwing “DNSPROBEFINISHED_NXDOMAIN” errors. Am I misunderstanding how this should work or is there just an error in my setup?

Hi there @meClam,

The steps that you’ve taken look all correct in order to set up your white-label nameservers.

What you still need to do is add your coolpatterns.net domain name under your DigitalOcean account so that you could actually have a DNS zone for that domain name. At the moment your domain name is using the correct Nameservers but there is no active DNS zone.

You could check that with the following command:

dig +short @ns1.digitalocean.com coolpatterns.net

Then after that update your A record to your Droplet’s IP address and this should start working as normal once the DNS cache has been cleared over the Globe.
