Setting up emails - Anyone kind enough to assist step by step?

Hi there, I've recently moved from cpanel hosting to droplet sdd cloud hosting and I'm loving the concept. DigitalOcean made it very easy to install wordpress with a droplet, but now I need to email people. I need to know what to do in order to be able to create email addresses, log in to my email and email people - along with also being able to use my email address with outlook etc. Anyone? Happy to share my details with a trusted member to potentially do this with me or for me. Reading tutorials online helps but still very odd to me.

Setup up your own email hosting is a very complicated process and not recommended unless you really know what you are doing, it requires a lot of maintenance.

I recommend you to sign up for either a google apps account or a service to deliver emails like mandrill or sendgrid. Then configure your postfix or the wordpress to use smtp, here is an example
I'm new to Digital Ocean and not familiar with the Wordpress droplet, but I've installed virtualmin on all my servers. It's a GUI for managing your server and virtual hosts (clients) that comes with a mostly automatic installation of common servers including mail server. You'll need to have some systems admin kung-fu for it be useful, but check it out, highly recommended:
There are several "all-in-one" installers out there that will set up a mail server for you. My experience has been that they generally don't work right out of the box. My Virtualmin installation required a week of troubleshooting to get e-mail working properly, and I'm not exactly a newbie when it comes to *nix system administration.
