Hi Everyone,

I’m working in my startup project which I hope it will launch by April (Wish me good luck!)

I was thinking about the project infrastructure part, my project will require multiple layers of servers (Web, API, cache, database…etc) and they must be scalable to expand (add more servers to specific layer) and shrink depending on the load (no necessary auto-scaling) and I was wounding what kind of tools do you guys use to maintain your infrastructure?

I mean from Server provisioning and making sure everything is automated, what tools do you use?

And from monitoring and logging, what did you find the best?

Do you recommend some tool(s) for security?

First good luck in your startup, I recommend to use terraform for infrastructure provisioning, last year Digital Ocean released version 1.0.0 of DO terraform provider.

For managing your configuration I highly recommend to use ansible it is a great tool to automate your work.

For monitoring I recommend prometheus it is a next gen monitoring solution.

The best tool for logging is ELK Stack it can help you with monitoring too and also many other benefits.

I hope this answers your question, if you needed any help with any of these tools or sysadmin related tasks please do not hesitate to contact me.
