What's the site software? Wordpress? custom? What size droplet? Are you using a cache of any sort?

I've had no experience with ZPanel. However, it takes a long time for that IP to get resolved for some reason, but then the site itself loads lightning fast. That is really strange. I personally use Ubuntu as well- however, I looked around a bit and maybe this will help you--

Wouldn't be anything to do with DNS as it's slow using the IP address.

I would think it'd be an issue with a lot of queries or not caching so it doesn't get loaded from the database.

@ Gavin, the site is using Joomla! and the droplet is 40gb, 4gb ram, 2 cpu on Centos. I haven't verified the cache but will inquire.

I am experience this same situation!

At the beginning of my D.O experience, my website [www.4x4up.com] loads at 6 - 8 seconds.
When I set the url on browser, the site instantly request the page objects.

Today, after set the url, the browser get freezed of almost 8 seconds until request the objects.

I dont know whats is wrong, because I didnt maded any significant change in the code...

And I dont know if this is a DNS resolution problem... or something else...

I have a 10mb internet cable and I dont think the problem is mine.

Can you help me or suggest something ?

Im having the same issue - first request takes a couple of seconds to load, then it loads instantly. Not a big deal, but annoying.
