Spaces Custom Subdomain

Posted May 4, 2019 2.4k views

I would like to use a custom subdomain with DigitalOcean Spaces.
While testing, I discovered that in order to do so, I would have to change the name servers of the apex domain (when I tried to add the subdomain as a domain in DigitalOcean, I couldn’t select it as a CDN endpoint).
Unfortunately, I am unable to move my domain’s DNS away from Cloudflare. Is there any other way to use a subdomain as an endpoint for the Spaces CDN?

You can use custom sub-domains with Spaces and you can find more information how to do that here:

  • I know about the subdomain support but how would I use the CDN while still having my DNS at Cloudflare. From my testing, even if I set the NS on a subdomain to DigitalOcean, it still doesn’t work. (Basically, an NS record for to DigitalOcean DNS doesn’t allow me to set the CDN on
I have to have an entire domain on DigitalOcean DNS for it to work. (Basically, I would need to have the NS for pointed to DigitalOcean DNS which I can’t do as it needs to stay at Cloudflare).

I may buy a cheap domain if I have to but if possible, I would like to have a CDN on instead of

Please just use CNAME record to do this, Not requiring damn migrating entire NS
