Question

Spam problem on my website

Hello,

Since a few days, I have many spam problems on my website moi-julie.fr. I receive hundreds of thousands of comments and connection attempts.

Do you have a solution to block this type of connection?

Julie

Hey @juliebrisson,

There are several steps you can take to help prevent spam comments and connection attempts.

  1. Install a CAPTCHA. There are many CAPTCHA plugins available for popular website platforms such as WordPress and Drupal.

  2. Use an anti-spam plugin: There are many anti-spam plugins available for popular website platforms that can help prevent spam comments and connection attempts. These plugins typically use advanced algorithms and machine learning to detect and block spam activity.

  3. Enable comment moderation: By enabling comment moderation on your website, you can review all comments before they are posted publicly. This can help prevent spam comments from appearing on your website.

  4. Disable XML-RPC: XML-RPC is a remote procedure call protocol that can be used to remotely manage your website. Unfortunately, it is also a common target for hackers and spammers. Disabling XML-RPC can help prevent spam connection attempts.
