Hi, i'm new at DigitalOcean, and I'm trying to connect via ssh to my first droplet. I associated my ssh key with the droplet, but when I try to connect via ssh, the server asks me a password. What am I doing wrong ?

  • What SSH client are you using to connect via SSH? Is it PuTTY or something else?

You need to specify the private key on the SSH client.

  1. Open PuTTY
  2. Click on + sign @ Category SSH
  3. Click on Auth
  4. Click on Browse and open your key
