I’m having trouble getting the SSL Certificate to work and have https:// display on the domain I’m hosting on Ubuntu 12.10 using the rails set up.
I’ve followed this tutorial a few times: https://www.digitalocean.com/community/articles/how-to-create-a-ssl-certificate-on-nginx-for-ubuntu-12-04
I’ve been making sure to do everything right but I’m having no luck. I’m assuming it has to do with the differing Ubuntu versions. I wish I had more to offer on this question, but do any of you have any thoughts on what might not be working?

If you have a firewall/iptables setup, make sure you open up port 443.

What happens exactly when you try going to https://yourdomain?

Any error messages in /var/log/nginx/error.log would be helpful in debugging your issue. If you’re still having problems, posting your Nginx configuration would give us a place to start.
