Question

Storage Calculation Formula

Hi

I have not found the answer to this in the knowledgebase or via support (they just closed my ticket without any response!)

I want to know how Digital Ocean calculate storage consumption. I.e. if they say that in Spaces, 100 GB are used, does that mean 100 x 1024 = 102,400 MB? Or does it mean 100x1000 = 100,000 MB? … this may sound silly, but I have seen many companies calculating 1GB = 1000 MB.

Thanks!

Hi there,

This is a good question! I’ve just checked this internally and can confirm that the disk usage would be calculated as 1 GiB = 1024 MiB.

Best,
