Subdomain point to another hosting service provider ?

Posted on April 30, 2016

All good on digital ocean but I would like to do some blogging (not some serious stuff and not feeling like managing it). I have another shared hosting service package on justhost.com and I would like to point my blog subdomain to justhost and run my blog there. How can i do that ?

Summary

Primary Server on Digital Ocean - www.myprimaryserver.com Blogging Server on just host - blogging.myprimaryserver.com

Any input is much appreciated. Thanks.

By adding an A record to your DNS records.

Just like Woet said. Find your shared IP address at justhost and create an A record that points blogging at the IP address at justhost. The above assumes you are using DO for your DNS. If you are using justhost then you will update your Apex (naked, bare) domain with the IP of your DO droplet on their DNS and add blogging subdomain with an A record to justhost. If that isn’t clear, start by telling us where the DNS will be hosted.
