In order to comply with a new notification from the Government of India regarding Service tax, DigitalOcean will begin charging Service Tax at 15% to customers located in India starting with your invoice for usage in December 2016.
As I understand it, this tax applies whenever the person receiving the service is located within India. If there are specific questions or issues regarding this change that I can help you with, let me know.
I would also like to know about it. That if any TDS (income tax tax deduction at source) is needed or not. According to Indian Tax laws all residents need to cut TDS on all payments made for technical services. Can you please clarify if this is needed ?
Yes it is important to deduct TDS as per Indian laws. Will DigitalOcean help us with this. Can we deduct the TDS and pay the rest or pay the TDS and claim it from Digital ocean later.
Google, AWS, Facebook and almost all major cloud providers let us pay the TDS and then they give us a credit on submission of the TDS information.
Please advise. Thank You.
