Question

Temporary failure in name resolution

My website is hosted on a DigitalOcean droplet

When I try to ping it, I get the message: Temporary failure in name resolution

When I try to access the same server with a different domain (another TLD), it works.

What has happened, and what can I do to fix it?

Hi there,

Once you’ve made a DNS change it can take up to 24/48 hours for the DNS cache to clear over the Globe before you could see the new DNS records.

In the meantime, I could suggest using the following DNS lookup tool to check your DNS records:

Best,

Bobby

Hello, this could be an issue from your /etc/hosts file.
