I have an aws instance currently and I want to switch my server to digital ocean without affecting my data. How can I do so?

Greetings!

Great question. There is no “one size fits all” solution for this, but there are some common practices that can be applied relatively to your position. With that said, we do have a tutorial which can help to understand the theory about how one might go about it, assuming that the tutorial itself does not fit your use case (which it may or may not):

This tutorial covers how to migrate your data and website off of a different VPS provider to DigitalOcean. The basic procedures are the same regardless of where you are migrating from. We discuss some strategies for maintaining data integrity and creating a similar operating environment on a new VPS instance.
