I did
$sudo certbot --apache
then I am prompted with

1: www.sofkar
Select the appropriate numbers separated by commas and/or spaces, or leave input blank to select all options shown (Enter ‘c’ to cancel):
and then I enter and I get the following error message:
An unexpected error occurred: The server will not issue certificates for the identifier :: Error creating new order :: Cannot issue for “www.sofkar”: Domain name does not end with a valid public suffix (TLD) Please see the logfiles in /var/log/letsencrypt for more details.
Then I did
/var/log/letsencrypt for more details
and I got
-bash: /var/log/letsencrypt: Is a directory
Can anyone tell me what this means and how to fix it??

As the error message says - Cannot issue for “www.sofkar”: Domain name does not end with a valid public suffix (TLD)
This means that you’re missing the domain name’s extension, e.g - .com or .net or .org and so on.
You need to enter the domain name with the domain extension and then give it another go.

go to sudo nano /etc/apache2/sites-available/sofkar.conf
change your server alias to www.sofkar.XX
XX is your public suffix (TLD)
