Question

Trouble with MX Records. Using a external email hosting.

Hi,

So am trying to setup email’s for my Droplet via my other shared hosting service.

I am also using Cloudflare CDN.

In Cloudflare DNS I have:

A: domain.com.au points to 123.456.789.11 (droplet IP) A: mail points to 212.xxx.xxx.xx (external hosting IP for mail server) CNAME: www is an alias of domain.com.au MX: domain.com.au mail handled by mail.domain.com.au

Still nothing. Just to confirm, because my domain name server is pointing to Cloudflare. Is this all that is needed or do I need to also add the MX records to Digital Ocean Droplet.

It seems like you’re on the right path here. I see the MX record for your domain pointing to another server. Are you receiving mail now? DNS propagation may have played a role in the reason why you did not at first.
