Trying to upload icomoon zip files to my wordpress site and am getting the below error.

I have read online that I made need to update my PHP zip settings? I am a very new user so would appreciate some explanation on how to do it (if this is the issue)

‘Couldn’t add the font because the server didn’t respond. Please reload the page, then try again.’

Hi @kradle,

Looking more into the issue, there are a couple of suggestions. First is to update your theme and plugins to the latest possible. If this doesn’t work, I’ll suggest turning your attention to your website’s Permissions and Ownership.

First, I’ll recommend trying to fix your permissions, most probably, each directory needs to have 755 permissions and each file 644. Try with that.

You can try and use the following command:

find /path/to/app -type d -exec chmod 755 {} \;
find /path/to/app -type f -exec chmod 644 {} \;

Remember to change /path/to/app with the actual path to your website.

If that doesn’t work, you’ll need to change the ownership of the files. Let me know which WebService you are running so that I can further help out.

  • Hi thanks for the reply.

    I have updated plugins and theme but still having the same issue.

    For the permissions fix, where do I type the “find /path/to/app -type d -exec chmod 755 {} \;
    find /path/to/app -type f -exec chmod 644 {} \;” ?

    Can you please provide some guidance?

    Not sure about the web service, how can I find this out?

    Apologies for my lack of understanding, the team who created and maintained the website are no longer available to ask.
