I have configured my mail server and my web server on 2 different droplets, but I can’t sent mails. My website runs on Wordpress and I wanted to get email notifications from WP to my personal email user@mydomain.com. I have configured exim4 and works fine when I sent to my gmail account. How can I check what is wrong?

So the first question is, is the problem with the sending or receiving end? You say you can send may to gmail from the Wordpress server. Can you receive mail from other hosts on the mail server? <br> <br>Next, we should check the log files to get a better sense of the problem. Could you paste the contents of /var/mail.log ?
Hello all,
What I could suggest here is using an SMTP plugin for your WordPress site.
That way you will be able to specify an SMTP server with authentication which your emails would be going through. You could for example use SendGrid’s SMTP service. This would drastically increase the delivery rate of your emails as well compared to using plain PHP mail.
I’ve been using this plugin for a while now and it works very well: Easy WP SMTP.
Hope that this helps! Regards, Alex
