Question

upstream connect error or disconnect/reset before headers. reset reason: connection failure, transport failure

“upstream connect error or disconnect/reset before headers. reset reason: connection failure, transport failure reason: immediate connect error: Connection refused”

Why are my customers getting this error while trying to download a file that is smaller than 30KB? The file is unchanged for the last 4 weeks. The issue has started happening out of the blue and disappeared after 10 hours.

For context, the file is served via a subdomain endpoint which is also managed by DigitalOcean’s name servers.

Heya, @sleepingnavymorel

Can you confirm if this intermittent error is related to the Spaces product? Also have you made any recent DNS changes as this can explain such behaviour?

It will take some time for the DNS records to propagate after you’ve saved them. During this time, the domain registrar communicates the changes you’ve made with your ISP (Internet Service Provider). In turn, your ISP caches the new name servers to ensure quick site connections. This process usually takes about 30 minutes but could take up to a few hours depending on your registrar and your ISP’s communication methods.

Heya,

If the issue is intermittent issues like that where some issues appears and the out of the blue disappears again you can always check the DigitalOcean status page if there are any ongoing incidents:

https://status.digitalocean.com/

Additionally, make sure that the system you are using (if it’s a Droplet for example) is not experiencing high load as well.
